Welcome!
Limousine
Eighteen clients and business partners,
There's
not a lot of good news in the news these days. Instead of our
usual business update, we've decided to take your mind off the
bad news for a brief time. We are giving you a customer spotlight
piece that will definitely give you some relief from your commercial
airline woes. We're also letting you know about some fun and rewarding
things we've done recently that have helped us to have a little
more positive outlook. We hope you can take a few minutes to read
it and chuckle and perhaps find a little motivation for yourself!
Regards,
Marc

Eighteen Zamboni Is a Hit at Local Ice Rink

The latest addition to the Limousine Eighteen fleet doesn't go
zoom, zoomrather it goes whoosh, whoosh!
Limousine Eighteen is supporting their local ice rink, The Edge
Sports Center, by purchasing the rights to name and wrap the rinks
Zamboni for the next three years. The Zamboni, the large truck
that smoothes the ice surface, has been shrink-wrapped with colorful
company images. The passengers pictured in the wrap
are local youth hockey players including Zach Shpilner, the son
of Limousine Eighteen principles, Marc and Linda Shpilner.

Marc Shpilner says being a good corporate citizen and supporting
his son were factors in the agreement, but the Zamboni has proved
to be a good business decision. We have a local population
of 45,000 or so and the community supports the rink. People love
the Zamboni and they watch closely when its out there smoothing
the ice surface. You watch people watching the Zamboni and they
are always smiling. Anything that puts a smile on everyones
face is a wonderful connection for Limousine Eighteen.
Shpilner
is planning to expand his company's Zamboni advertising program.
We had such a great response from the community we decided
to wrap another one in support of the University of Massachusetts-Lowells
Division 1 hockey program. Our daughter, Brenna, is a student
there and we love to attend games. Shpilner believes supporting
community charities and initiatives is the right thing to do but
its also a leg up on gaining the attention of current and
potential clients. Its good business that your clients
see you out there in the community being supportive of worthy
causes. It is who we are and it's a lot of fun for all of us."
Helping Hands
Limousine Eighteen reaches out to the community
At
Limousine Eighteen, we have always worked hard to be good corporate
citizens. We recycle wherever we can, have added a hybrid SUV
to our fleet, and encourage employees to take a paid day off every
year to volunteer at a charitable organization of their choice.
Here are some things we've done recently to maintain a positive
outlook in light of all the negative things going on in the world.
Heidi,
our Global Logistics Coordinator, took some time off to prepare
for the Annual Gala for Strongest
Link AIDS Services, where they raised almost $50,000 to assist
in providing an array of support services to improve the health
and quality of life for Essex County residents living with and
affected by HIV/AIDS. Heidi has been a longtime committee member
and will soon be gearing up for their Annual Golf Tournament.
Jane,
Office Manager and Training Specialist, is an active supporter
of Adopt a Platoon, sending
personal supplies and writing letters to soldiers stationed in
Iraq. When she received word that there was a 24-person platoon
that asked for chocolate, she mobilized the office staff, collected
40 pounds of chocolate and other candy, personal grooming items,
and magazines and shipped them off. We got it all done in time
to beat the 135 degree heat that will even take down M&Ms!
Linda Shpilner and World T.E.A.M.
Sports supporters, including founder
Jim Benson at the starting line.
Linda
Shpilner, Director of Administration, took a little more than
a day to train for and walk the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington,
DC in October of last year. When a client mentioned they were
walking to raise money for their foundation,
World T.E.A.M. Sports, which encourages people with disabilities
to participate in sporting events, as well as Team
Semper Fi, which raises money for soldiers who have been injured
in the course of duty, she signed up on the spot. It was such
a well run event and tremendous experience she is doing it again
this year.
