Secrets
for Success
What's
your plan for professional development?
Companies that
invest in professional development for their employees reap the rewards
in sales growth and employee retention. Professional development consultants
recommend a minimum of 40 hours a year per employee be dedicated to
learning. That education should extend all the way through your
organization. According to Larry Carlton of Carlton and Duran CPA's,
"Massachusetts CPAs must complete 40 hours of professional development
each year". In the field of Education, administrators must complete
more than 50 hours a year. Law Enforcement Executives in Washington
State must successfully complete core training plus a minimum of 72
hours of elective training a year.
Recently, the Limousine
Eighteen executive team attended a "Manager's Success Program" hosted
by industry expert, Tom Mazza. It was especially designed for
chaufferred transportation companies but the messages apply universally
to all companies so we wanted to share it with you.
The Manager's Success
Program, a conference in Philadelphia, presented on the following
topics:
-
Lead and Inspire the People that
work for you, by Tom Mazza
-
Everybody Sells: Create a Selling
Atmosphere at your Company, by Tom Mazza
-
Successful Management Style, by
David G. Benton, G.M. of the Rittenhouse Hotel(5 star hotel)
-
Drama Free Zone: Creating a
Healthy Workplace Environment, Dr. Yvonne LaMar, Ph.D.
- The Value of Precise Communication by Robert E. Laessig, Ph.
D., Drexel University.
Professional development can also include:
team building and organizational goal setting; long range planning;
public relations; organizational change; organizational leadership;
policy development; executive self care; managing limited resources;
career ladder; quality control; training systems; and futures planning.
Don't get complacent about professional development. That's what the
competition wants you to do. Plan your plan and work your plan. If your
company spends a mere 40 hours per year per person on professional
development, your company could reap the rewards as well.
Announcing
the Winners
Congratulations to Mark Michalski of Bell Fuse Corporation. Mark was
the lucky winner of our Davio's gift certificate in September. He and
his companion enjoyed limousine transportation to and from Boston and
scrumptious dinner for two. "What a memorable evening! Our gourmet meal
at Davios began with the corn meal crusted oysters, and roasted garlic
cauliflower puree. They were delicious! Next we sampled a warm spinach
salad, roasted peppers, portobello mushrooms, goat cheese, and garlic.
For our entrée we chose the veal tenderloin, creamy potato
puree, summer greens, lemon, capers, and parsley. The transportation
was the icing on the cake. It made the evening spectacular. Your
service is unmatched. Thank you Limousine Eighteen."

Limousine Eighteen Cares
Limousine Eighteen employees care
about the community. Each year, each member of the company from our
office staff to our executives gets one paid day off each year to
provide community service for the charity of their choice. It could be
a local soup kitchen, Make a Wish, The Walk for Life, or The Jimmy
Fund. Heidi Zweigle, our Customer Service Representative is an active
volunteer and board member for the Strongest Link an organization
providing support services for individuals coping with the HIV virus.
We encourage our employees to provide service above self. Our employees
tell us that both the charities and they benefit from volunteering in
immeasurable ways.
Our Featured
Customer: A1 Datashred
Did you know that an increasing number of laws actually require
organizations to shred or face steep fines?
There
are lots of reasons to consider or to continue shredding. Shredding
reduces your susceptibility to corporate espionage, it provides
protection from identity theft for yourself, employees and
customers/patients, and minimizes exposure to negative publicity.
Limousine Eighteen uses their services to destroy sensitive client
data. Lastly, A1 tells us that there can also be significant savings to
outsource this task versus in-house shredding. If you would like more
information, contact Joseph Jeffres, Owner/Operator at 978-667-6500.
